Chat Reference Service

PU Library provides chatting facility from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm where you can with our Professional Staff related to your query. Click the following link http://www.pulibrary.edu.pk/live to access the chat engine.

Read the following guidelines carefully before you start chatting

  • No need to download any software, plug-in or ad-on.

  • There is no need to register yourself, registration is not enabled for you.

  • You just have to enter any username of your choice and password of your choice to enter into the chat rooms as a guest. this will expire after 10 minutes.

  • Now click ASK A LIBRARIAN room where you want to ask your queries.

  • You will find our professionals waiting for you to answer your queries.

  • They appear in member list with their member name as their areas of responsibilities. for example if you want to chat to a serials librarian to ask something about journals and periodicals you will find a member with serials name to ask for.

  • If the relevant librarian is not available it is supposed that any other librarian will guide you in his potential.

  • You can start chat in the main window typing your text in the text box against send button and press SEND or press ENTER key from your keyboard.

  • You can change your font color size and style and can include similes too.

  • But please remember to allow this site for popup: it means that you may find a yellow ribbon coming at the top of the browser window blocking the popup. please right click it and click always allow popup from this site.

  • If you don't want to share your chat with any one click on the member name you want to chat with from the members list then click on private chat in profile tab below the member list window.

  • Always remember to log out before you leave the chat.

Every one is respected and welcomed at chat room, but always be careful because:

All of your communication is being saved in a log file. And our professionals have the right to ban block or kick the users observing disrespectful behavior or  vulgar language. You can also be tracked by the IP you are using.
